“Thelma and Louise” is a 1991 film that follows two friends on a road trip that spirals into a desperate flight from the law after a tragic incident.
The film centers on Thelma Dickinson (Geena Davis), a meek housewife, and Louise Sawyer (Susan Sarandon), a
strong willed waitress. Tired of their mundane lives and oppressive relationships, they decide to embark on a weekend getaway to a fishing cabin in the mountains of Arkansas. Thelma is married to a controlling husband, Darryl (Christopher McDonald), while Louise is in a troubled relationship with a musician named Jimmy (Michael Madsen).
